2008 Activity
-
February 2008 - Chinese New Year Celebration
was held on Sunday, February 10th. The program included
a presentation by a chapter member who participated
in the Student Ambassador Program in China. There were
other educational & cultural exhibits and Chinese
food tasting. Co-President and female members participated
in NJ/NY Port Authority Women in Engineering Workshop.

April 2008 - Participated in National
Youth Service Day (NYSD) project, Earth Day Liberty
State Park clean up. Members partnered with private
industry and college students cleaning up debris along
the shore line. Organized Global Youth Service Day (GYSD)
project, collected First Aid supplies including Band
Aids for RENUH to help support the people of Northern
Uganda.

May 2008 - Members held a brunch on
Sunday, May 4th, 2008, to celebrate Mother’s day
and graduating high school seniors. The chapter officers
presented PTPI certificates and chords to each graduating
senior, and chapter members presented a single stem
rose to each mother present. Members volunteered to
serve meals at Wrap4ASmile Foundation, Inc. annual fundraising
event. Members volunteered to serve meals at Habitat
for Humanity fundraising event. Participated in a collaborative
project with the Greater Princeton Chapter to collect
winter clothing, blankets, reading books and toys to
support children in Mongolia through F.I.R.E.

June 2008 - Participated in American
Cancer Society Relay for Life.
Chapter Co-Presidents, Founder, and Advisor presented
8 scholarships to graduating Secaucus High School students
at high school awards ceremony. Participated in the
Hackensack River Meadowfest promoting PTPI’s GIFT
Chapter programs and sold ice tea to raise funds for
the chapter. Participated in a collaborative effort
with Wrap4ASmile Foundation Inc. in their 2nd Annual
Community Outreach Program (COP). Student volunteers
visited shelters throughout Northern New Jersey. Activities
included packing and distributing personal care supplies,
arts and craft kits for children's day care program,
clothing, stationary, and non perishable food. The students
had the opportunity to learn about services offered
by each shelter that they visited.

August 2008 - Participated in People
to People International Eastern Region Officers workshop
in CT.

September 2008 - Volunteered and participated
in the UNICO 2nd Annual Bocce Tournament. Participated
in the Secaucus Library Fair. Sold snacks to raise funds
for the chapter.

Collected clothing, sports equipments, household,
and school supplies for people in Nicaragua through
Peacework.
2007 Activity
-
Chapter members packed 200 hygiene kits for Wrap4ASmile
Foundation, Inc. The supplies were distributed to Hudson
County Homeless Connect program.

Volunteered to serve meals at 125th anniversary of
First Reformed Church fundraising dinner

Chapter members packed 300 hygiene kits for Wrap4ASmile
Foundation, Inc. The supplies were distributed to Hoboken
Shelter.

project. Packed 500 hygiene kits for Wrap4ASmile Foundation,
Inc. The supplies were distributed to PERC Shelter in
Union City and Women Rising Shelter in Jersey City.

Purchased supplies and made 150 care packages for the
servicemen and women that were serving in Iraq and Afghanistan
through Operation Shoe Box.

Foundation, Inc. The supplies were distributed to St.
Lucy’s Shelter in Jersey City, NJ

Participated in the Secaucus Library Fair. Sold Chinese
appetizers. All proceeds support the Secaucus Library
Children’s Reading Garden.

Collected clothing and school supplies for people
in Nicaragua through Peacework.

The chapter held its Annual Fundraising event on Sunday,
October 14th, 2007. The theme was a German Festival.
The program included Educational & cultural exhibits,
German food and entertainment, and the swearing in ceremony
of the new chapter officers.

Co-Presidents and Founder attended 6th Annual Global
Youth Forum in Chicago, IL
-
Organized a Holiday food drive for the PERC and Hoboken
Shelters.
-
Purchased supplies and packed 25 shoe boxes for Operation
Christmas Child.

Participated in 2nd Annual Morris County Foster Children
Holiday Party. Activities included: face painting, games,
members entertained over 200 guests with holiday songs
and distributed give away items

Participated in a collaboration project with Wrap4ASmile
Foundation, Inc. and Friends in Need Foundation to collect
winter clothing, made scarves, pack personal care supplies
and distributed meals to over 200 people that are in
need. Most of the individuals that received supplies
were homeless and senior citizens that lived at Tompkins
Park in New York City.
2006 Activity

August 2006 - Educational & Cultural presentation
on S. Korea. PTPI’s GIFT chapter provided home
stay for Ping Ping from PTPI’s S. Korea member

on Egypt. PTPI’s GIFT chapter provided home stay

Ahmed “Mickey” Roushdy from Egypt –
founder of PTPI’s Paraoh’s for Peace Chapter.

July 2006 - PTPI’s GIFT chapter Founder &
President participated in GYFHC Russia. He visited children
hospital & orphanage, donated toys & also blankets
that were made by members.

July 2006 - UMDNJ HIP HOP 5th Annual Youth Science
Health Education Day. Selected PTPI’s GIFT
Student members participate in the program and shared
their experiences on youth volunteerism to over 100
students from South Jersey areas.

June 2006 – NJ Foster Scholar program.
PTPI’s GIFT chapter contributed personal care
supplies
and volunteered to pack 150 Wrap4ASmile care bags
for foster children that were going to attend college.

June 2006 - NJMC Meadowfest. PTPI’s GIFT chapter
attended a table selling snacks and drinks, and also
promoted the upcoming International Festival scheduled
in September.

June 2006 – Presented 2 scholarships to 2 SHS

May 2006 – Cultural & Educational presentation
on Nicaragua. PTPI’s GIFT chapter members learned
about the living conditions of recipients of their

The chapter collected over 3,000 items such as sports
equipments, shoes, clothing, school supplies, toys,
used computers, printers, TV’s, etc.

April 2006 - NYSD and GYSD: Operation Iraqi Children,
donated 100 school kits. Approximate donated value and
shipping & handling: $ 1,000.00

April 2006 – NYSD activity: Packed and donated
personal care supplies to HOPE house through Wrap4ASmile
Foundation, Inc. Approximate donated value $ 400.00.

April 2006 – NYSD activity: served meals and
donated food to PERC shelter. Approximate donated value
$ 500.00.

April 2006 – GYSD activity: Collected and distributed
over 700 reading books to servicemen and servicewomen
that are serving in Iraq and Afghanistan through Operation
Shoe Box.

March 2006 – Over 30 members attended poetry
writing workshop with HAWAH aka Rajeev Kasat. Kicked
off event for 2nd annual Poem for Peace writing contest.
Participants learned about the people and culture that
live in Cameroon, Africa.

Feb 2006 – Child life blanket projects. PTPI’s
GIFT chapter student members made 75 blankets for infants.

Jan 2006 – Over 80 students attended the fun
evening of Dance, food and friends to recruit new members.

2004 programs:

Chinese New Year Celebration Fundraising Dinner &
Show. Over 250 people attended at this event including
PTPI Youth Director, Secaucus Mayor, Board of Education
President and Trustees, and School Principals.

Global Youth Service Day (GYSD) Tree Swallow Conservation
Project to support New Jersey Meadowland Commission
(NJMC). Home Depot donated 48 birdhouse kits, GIFT members
assembled and decorated the bird houses. The chapter
posted 50 birdhouses in the Mill Creek Marsh Park in
Secaucus, NJ.

Soap Drive for Haiti people, collected 314 bars of soap,
part of Greater Princeton Chapter program.

Collected total retail value of $ 1,200.00 furnishing
and household items for 2 low income families that are
moving into the new housing to support Town of Secaucus
Social Service Office.

Operation Iraqi Children. Collected 218 stuffed toys,
retail value of $1,500.00 were shipped to Heart To Heart
International Warehouse

PTPI Classrooms and school projects: Global Mural Project
and Peace Poem Project.

Night of Thousand Dinner (N1KD) GIFT 1st anniversary
and PTPI 48th anniversary Formal Dinner & Dance.
Featuring guest speakers: PTPI President/CEO –
Mary Jean Eisenhower, The HALO Trust, and Arn Chorn-
Pond.

Youth Coalition Landmine Conference for Cambodia at
Tenafly Middle School. 500 students from over 12 schools
from Northern Jersey participated in the program.

2nd Annual gift wrapping drive to support Town of Secaucus
Social Service.

Provided Arts & Crafts, games and distributed toys
and gift bags to over 200 foster children.

attended by over 100 students and their family members.

1st annual gift wrapping drive and volunteered to wrap
gifts for 107 underprivileged children and their families
in Secaucus, NJ. Project coordinated through The Town
of Secaucus Social Service Department
